At LearnYou, we believe in the power of sport and education to shape strong, confident, and well-rounded young people. We're looking for passionate, community-minded volunteers to support our mission and make a real difference in the lives of youth athletes.

Volunteer Roles

  • Primary Focus: Support the logistics of LearnYou’s one-time athlete enrichment clinics (2–3 hours each).
    Responsibilities:

    • Assist with registration, check-in, and check-out of youth participants.

    • Help with set-up and clean-up of the space and materials.

    • Ensure smooth participant flow between stations/activities.

    • Answer parent/guardian questions and direct them as needed.

  • Primary Focus: Provide academic support for elementary and middle school students in a group or one-on-one setting.
    Responsibilities:

    • Assist students with homework, reading, and subject-based tutoring (math, science, writing, etc.).

    • Encourage student confidence and reinforce positive academic habits.

    • Collaborate with LearnYou staff to track student progress.

    • Bonus: Spanish-speaking tutors are especially needed to support bilingual families.

  • Primary Focus: Coach youth athletes during basketball clinics and long-term enrichment sessions.
    Responsibilities:

    • Lead or assist basketball skill sessions, drills, and scrimmages.

    • Encourage teamwork, discipline, and sportsmanship.

    • Work closely with other coaches and LearnYou staff to create a positive learning environment.

    • Serve as a mentor and role model for youth participants.

  • Primary Focus: Support LearnYou events and engage with the community through outreach efforts.
    Responsibilities:

    • Assist with event logistics such as setup, check-in, ushering, and clean-up.

    • Represent LearnYou at community tabling events.

    • Help with storytelling by collecting testimonials or assisting with photos/videos.

    • Distribute flyers, social media info, and other materials to boost LearnYou visibility.

  • Primary Focus: Support LearnYou's data collection and impact evaluation.
    Responsibilities:

    • Help collect and input survey and feedback data from workshops and clinics.

    • Take notes or transcribe key quotes from events or interviews.

    • Organize and maintain digital records for reporting and storytelling purposes.

  • Primary Focus: Help tell the story of LearnYou’s impact and build connections with donors and community partners.
    Responsibilities:

    • Support content creation for newsletters, website, and social media.

    • Assist with donor recognition efforts, including thank-you packages and digital features.

    • Help with planning and promoting fundraising campaigns and events.
